Sources and independence

Built on Parliament's public data

Billvote adds no interpretation of its own to what happens in Parliament. Everything you see can be traced back to an official source.

  • 1UK Parliament open data. Bills, publications, stages, members and divisions are fetched every hour from Parliament's official APIs, under the Open Parliament Licence.
  • 2Hansard and gov.uk. Debate transcripts come from Hansard; government news from gov.uk.
  • 3Summaries. “In short” is an aid, written from the explanatory notes or the second reading debate. The official document is always leading.

Independent and without an agenda.

Billvote is not affiliated with the UK Parliament, the government or any political party. There are no adverts and your data is not sold. Contains Parliamentary information licensed under the Open Parliament Licence v3.0.

Votes in the app are a poll among users and have no official status. Results are only shown in aggregate; a group with fewer than three votes stays hidden. Read more in our privacy policy.
